Puppy Basic Obedience Foundation

   Two Week Duration

This program is designed and taught for the young, receptive, impressionable and developing puppy canine mind. Key goals to achieve are to constructively develop intellect, confidence and motivation with respect to the command language and to establish the proper relation between the puppy and the human.

Through two to four sessions per day, the first week is spent teaching the language with a moderate approach paced by the student's rate of retention. The second week consists of reinforcement and relationship building. Daily status is logged on the progress of the student, which is used to generate a weekly report card consisting of command grades and overall trainer comments.

During the last week of the program, the owners are required to attend one cross-training lesson to better prepare them for the life long maintenance phase of canine obedience. This lesson provides the trainers with the opportunity to show the owners what their dog has learned, as well as a chance for the owners to properly continue their dog's training and establish their new working relationship.

Adult Advanced Obedience Foundation

Four Week Duration

Over the month long adult obedience foundation program, your dog will learn extensive on-leash obedience in addition to the "come" command from a distance The correct relationship between dog and humans will be established with dog being subordinate and the human being the alpha leader. The command language is taught to have meaning and motivation. The first two weeks of your dog's training is done on our premises for the learning and reinforcement phases.

In the final two weeks of the program, the proofing and polishing phase is done in the field with your dog being taken into urban areas such as downtown, parks and shopping centers and into rural settings such as beaches and forest trails. This method insures that your dog is properly socialized in their training and will perform under everyday situations and distractions. Daily status is logged on the progress of the student, which is used to generate a weekly report card consisting of command grades and overall trainer comments.

During the last week of the program, the owners are required to attend two cross-training lessons to better prepare them for the life long maintenance phase of canine obedience. These lessons provide the trainers with the opportunity to show the owners what their dog has learned, as well as a chance for the owners to properly continue their dog's training and establish their new working relationship.
